small crime decreases. Violent crimes (murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault) fell by 1.4% and property crimes (burglary,
larceny, motor vehicle theft, arson) fell by 2.1%. The largest declines in violent crime (-3.9%) occurred in mid-sized
cities with populations between 250,000 and 499,999.
